Dead Girl Running (Cape Charade #1) Reviews
I am in Christina Dodd Reviewer's Club and ecstatic to have read her book Dead Girl Running. Christina Dodd I am suppose to post an honest review of this book so here it goes....
The blub for this caught my attention: "I have three confessions to make..."
1. I've got the scar of a gunshot on my forehead.
2. I don't remember an entire year of my life.
3. My name is Kellen Adams... and that's half a lie.

Dead Girl Running by Christina Dodd was one of those books that I hated to put down because I was totally captured from the first page.
Kellen Adams was intriguing from the beginning but she is a force to be reckoned with as she faces so many unknowns - her lost year, a murder mystery, and a stranger who seems to be familiar. She came to the resort looking for a sanctuary only to be involved in a murder mystery with people she's only recently come to know.
The plot was paced smoothly and Ms. Dodd ...more
I received an ARC from NetGalley to read and review. The below is my honest, unbiased opinion. Thank you, Christina Dodd, the publisher, and NetGalley, for allowing me to review.

I received this book for free from the publisher (Harlequin) as part of their bookstagram publicity campaign.
I give this book 3.5 stars which rounds up to 4.
I always have a hard time with rating thrillers. I’m pickier with them than with other genres, and I usually end up rating them somewhere in the middle which is exactly what happened with this book (hence my 3.5 stars).
I loved how the book started off. The opening chapter was really good and helped set up the overall plot line well.

The blurb for this caught my attention: " I have three confessions to make..." and for the most part this delivered. The lead character is interesting, likable, sympathetic (and --yay--a capable woman) and has a murky past. After escaping an abusive marriage she ends up on the streets and is unable to recall what happened to her for one year. Now she is working at a remote resort when trouble arises and she has to use her military training and wits to stay alive and solve the crimes. I enjoyed t ...more
Christina Dodd’s latest book, Dead Girl Running (DGR) came up on NetGalley for review. I smugly requested it, thinking this will be easy because they like me, they really like me.
I was refused. I spent days wandering in the wilderness of dive bars, hole in the walls and gin joints seeking solace in demon rum.(work with me here) But a miracle happened and Harlequin reversed itself.
I was delighted and even more so when I finished DGR. The story has several threads running through, all of them cent ...more
I can't wait to read more by this author. The book has interesting characters, a great plot and leaves enough unknown at the end to want to read the next book. LOOOVVVEEEEDDD IT!!!
I am a longtime fan of Christina Dodd's historicals -- I'm pretty sure I've read them all -- but I've only read a few books from her several contemporary series. I was given the opportunity to read Dead Girl Running, the first book in her new Cape Charade series, which has characters from both the Virtue Falls and Bella Terra universes. However, the book can be read as a standalone story, and you don't miss anything if you haven't read the others (which isn't to say you shouldn't. You should.)
